“RecoMed, SA E-Health Startup, Secures Funding from Japanese Pharma Eisai”

The newest funding secured by RecoMed – South Africa’s top Health-tech Company marks its largest funding from its inception, as the startup’s investment exceeds its $1.45 million benchmark in 2021. The massive investment was sponsored by Japanese pharmaceutical giant – Eisai Co., Ltd. Although the exact amount of the investment remains anonymous, it is deduced to be its largest so far. As a tech-oriented platform that links up health givers with related patients, the leading Health-tech Company has contributed to making the booking of medical appointments way easier. With a ‘workforce’ of over 3000 healthcare providers, the startup boosts over 100,000 bookings monthly, which resulted in an increase of 150% in total revenue in 2023.

This investment comes at the heart of the rise in Breast Cancer in South Africa (mainly caused by pandemic screening delays). It also motivates the execution of RecoMed’s mission – to become the first digital platform specialized in the care of Breast Cancer. In the same vein, as Double Feather Partners spreads its tentacles across Africa, we continue to be partners and stakeholders in the overall improvement of all sectors within the Continent.
