Double Feather Partners Selected for Blended Finance Accelerator

Double Feather Partners was selected for the Blended Finance Accelerator for Fund Managers, supported by Convergence Blended Finance and Global Affairs Canada. The programme provides support to fund managers developing innovative blended finance structures that can help mobilise private capital towards high impact opportunities in emerging markets.
Strengthening the Africa Mobility Innovation Fund
The award supports the further development of the DFP Africa Mobility Innovation Fund, a blended finance venture capital fund focused on Africa’s mobility and logistics sectors. The fund was established to address financing gaps faced by businesses operating in sectors that are essential to economic activity but often require more specialised capital and support to reach scale.
Through the fund, DFP aims to invest in high potential companies working across areas including mobility, logistics, electric mobility and related infrastructure. The focus is on businesses with the potential to improve supply chains, expand economic opportunity, create employment and contribute to a lower carbon economy.
Why Blended Finance Matters
Many businesses addressing infrastructure and mobility challenges in African markets require capital at stages where conventional investment can be difficult to secure. Blended finance can help address this gap by combining different sources of capital and using catalytic funding to reduce risk, attract additional investors and support businesses through critical stages of growth.
For fund managers, developing the right structure is particularly important. The objective is not simply to provide concessional capital, but to create investment vehicles that can attract commercial capital and ultimately support businesses at a scale that matches the size of the opportunity.
Building for Long Term Scale
The support from Convergence and Global Affairs Canada provides an opportunity for DFP to further strengthen the fund’s structure, investment strategy and ability to mobilise additional capital. It also forms part of a broader effort to develop financing models that are better suited to the realities of African mobility and logistics businesses.
As Africa’s economies grow, demand for more efficient transportation, logistics infrastructure and cleaner mobility solutions will continue to increase. Meeting that demand will require not only entrepreneurs and technology, but also investment structures capable of supporting companies through the journey from early growth to commercial scale.
What We See
For Double Feather Partners, the programme represents an important step in building the financial infrastructure needed to support Africa’s next generation of mobility and logistics businesses. Our focus is on combining capital with sector expertise, local market knowledge and strategic partnerships to help promising companies become stronger and more investable.
We are grateful to Convergence Blended Finance and Global Affairs Canada for recognising this approach and supporting the continued development of the Africa Mobility Innovation Fund.
We look forward to building on this work and contributing to a stronger pipeline of investment opportunities across Africa’s mobility and logistics ecosystem.
