DFP Invests in Anda, Angola’s Leading Urban Mobility Fintech Company

3, November, 2025: DFP has invested in the €3 million (approximately $3.5 million/¥536 million) Seed round of Anda, Angola’s leading urban mobility and fintech solutions company.

Founded in Luanda, Anda operates as a human-centered mobility platform, fostering a new era of urban transport that blends innovation, inclusion, and sustainability. Having successfully started with 2-wheelers, Anda has expanded to include popular 3-wheeled tuk-tuks and is now entering the 4-wheeler segment with cars, offering comprehensive and accessible mobility solutions to the entire population. Over 1,500 drivers have already been brought into the formal economy by partnering with Anda, experiencing a tangible 20% increase in income when compared to informal operations; over 3 million rides have been completed in the last 5 months.

Central to Anda’s innovative approach is the “Drive-to-Own” model, which allows drivers often excluded from traditional financial institutions to acquire their own vehicles through affordable installment payments. Beyond asset ownership, Anda provides a robust support ecosystem that facilitates formalization, including certified professional training through Anda Academy (licensed by INEFOP), comprehensive insurance coverage, maintenance assistance, and administrative support.

DFP has supported Anda since 2024 through UNDP’s startup acceleration program, “Meet the Tôshikas.” This €3 million Seed round investment was co-led by other leading global VC funds including Breega, Speedinvest, and more. The funding will enable Anda to rapidly expand its electric vehicle (EV) fleet across 2, 3, and 4-wheel categories, invest in its proprietary fintech technologies, including driver credit-scoring and ecosystem management software, and scale its network of operational Safe Stops—physical hubs where drivers can pick up passengers and utilizing EV battery swapping services —across Angola and other African markets. This investment will also support economic development, formalization, job creation, and the acceleration of innovation in the transport sector.

Sérgio Tati, CEO and Co-founder of Anda, said:

“This €3 million funding round is a powerful vote of confidence in Angola’s immense potential, the entrepreneurial spirit of our people, and indeed, the entire Lusophone African region. This investment is a landmark moment, validating that an Angolan-founded company can, with the support of top-tier international Venture Capital,  pioneer a new era of innovation and responsible investment in our country. We are not just building a mobility company; we are creating an ecosystem to formalize an entire sector. Our unique model is built on three pillars: financial inclusion through our Drive-to-Own model, human capital development via our Anda Academy, and physical infrastructure through our network of ‘Safe Stops’developed in collaboration with local authorities. Through this integrated approach we are reshaping Angola’s mobility landscape replacing precarity with dignity, income stability, and security. We are proud to bear the ‘Made in Angola’ seal, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to national excellence and a sustainable future.”

Kohei Muto, CEO of DFP, said:

“Since the 2024 acceleration project, ‘Meet the Tôshikas,’ the team has demonstrated steady growth and a business model uniquely suited to the Angolan market. By promoting financial inclusion, creating jobs, and empowering the informal sector, they have consistently captured market share and delivered impact. DFP has long focused on scaling businesses in not only Africa Big 4 (South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, and Nigeria) but also frontier markets across the continent. We are proud to support this historic investment, which brings together leading VCs from Japan, the EU, and the US.”
